Dean is currently curating a collection of work made through his association with the NME magazine. It contains classic Edition Prints from the archive as well as new works that have never been available until now. We are very please to announce that it will be made available to purchase in the near future.

Print Process

Edition prints are made using either Giclée or Chromogenic archival processes.

Giclée

Giclée is a fine art digital printing process combining pigment based inks with high quality archival paper.

Dean's preferred fine art paper for the Giclée process is manufactured by the heritage paper company Hahnemühle, a paper-mill that has been crafting fine papers for over a century.

It is their Fine Art range of papers that deliver the deepest blacks, brightest whites and deep, vibrant colours lending each artwork a three-dimensional appearance and impressive pictorial depth.

The Hahnemühle PhotoRag paper is acid and lignin-free, meeting the most exacting requirements for age resistance. Its ideal combination of structure, print quality and weight, makes it one of the most versatile Fine Art modern papers.

Chromogenic Print

The Chromogenic Print, or as it is frequently referred to Digital C-type, is the latest evolution in conventional colour darkroom printing technique. Light sensitive paper is precisely exposed using computer technology using lasers or LEDs rather than a conventional enlarger bulb. The chemical processing of the paper remains the same as conventional darkroom methods.

Fujicolor Crystal Archive Paper is Dean's preferred Chromogenic paper choice. This classic photographic paper incorporates latest silver halide, coupler and layer design technology enabling it to deliver fantastic colour reproduction, white purity and image stability.

Other Processes
