Caribou aka Dan Snaith has a very broad musical gamut. He's a musical artist working with a long list of genres rather than just one box to tick, Electronica, Folkronika, IDM, Electro-Rock, Neo-Psychedelia and Shoe Gazing are just a few he traverses. The Canadian composer has in the past presented his work under a number of different monikers Manitoba and Daphni being others to watch out for. This Mixmag cover feature story was inspired by the release of Caribou's latest Album entitled 'Suddenly' a real crossover collection that illustrates his shape shifting skills.

Back to the shoot, it was in a way like history repeating itself for Dean. Between 1998 -2001 Dean used to shoot regularly for Mixmag (The UK's premiere music magazine), if you study the amount of covers produced in that period you will see so many of Dean's amongst them, from wild Ibiza scenes, crazy fashion stories and even one shot featuring a snake. When the magazine asked if Dean would like to do a session with Caribou he was delighted to accept.
