Now for something totally different!!!
Debora Esther Brugiati the driving force behind Argentina’s foremost hedonistic and creative web portal http://www.yaeshoy.com.ar/ put me onto POLEN.
This music will get your pulse racing !!!...
POLEN is the official live act of the ‘LARESISFUCKEDUP CREW’ a multimedia collective of DJs, VJs, Photographers, Designers and Audiovisual artists.
On the 30 December 2004 a fire started by a pyrotechnic flare ravaged a packed nightclub in Buenos Aries killing 194 people, the authorities closed many of the cities night spots and effectively sedated the scene. However time passed and out of this tragedy a group of young creatives have managed to revive the party scene. In to what is now a wild place to be.
Evidence of this revived club scene can be found on the LARESISFUCKEDUP blog http://laresisfuckedup.com.ar. And of course the http://www.yaeshoy.com.ar/ site...
I have selected 4 POLEN tracks which are taken from their EPs ‘Metamorphy’ (2008) and ‘Compresser’ (2009) including the most resent single ‘Drop the Line’, this can be seen in full hypnotic effect on YOUTUBE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xx9yXdsD8io. (I DIDN’T MAKE THE VIDEO BY THE WAY)
The band are soon to be releasing another single called ‘Dos 40’ so things are moving fast
Polen can be found http://myspace.com/polenrockers

Many thanks to JUKEBOX JAM RECORDS for letting me use the 4 blistering vintage R&B tracks on the last rotation of the Jukebox. The rotation coincided with the launch of THE NEW FACES EXHIBITION at the book club in London and the exhibitions second residence in Gijon in Spain at the fantastic EURO YEYE event. The Exhibition continues to tour and other details will follow...watch this space...
I hope you like the POLEN tracks...
